UCD is hosting an industry half-day in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland, IBEC and KARIM, for Irish SMEs to hear about a European funding grant called Eurostars and the support available; see information below and attached flyer.
The School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering are holding this half-day event on the 29th June for Irish SMEs to hear about a European R&D funding scheme called Eurostars. Eurostars is an EU project for 2 or more SMEs in different countries to work on product development. The advantages for companies are:
- Up-to €450k funding (50%)
- Additional free support from third level institutes (up to €250k, 100% funded)
- High success rate from Irish applicants (26%)
- Easy application form
Dr Terence O’Donnell, Programme Manager Enterprise Ireland, will give an overview of the funding scheme and answer questions. In Ireland the scheme also helps companies by giving them access to third level expertise up to €250k. We have speakers from Engineering and Material Science in UCD and UL (Terry McGrail), giving an overview of their expertise and how they can help companies undertaking research projects. An SME organisation from Paris is giving a presentation on the day as they are happy to act as a brokers if Irish SMEs need assistance in finding a French partner (we also have contacts with an SME organisation from Kent in the UK who are willing to help). IBEC are giving a talk on additional research opportunities for Irish companies.
