On Thursday 9th June, IRDG members had the opportunity to visit Irish SME TE Laboratories, based in Co. Carlow. This was a truly inspirational visit.
Mark Bowkett, MD, outlined how TE Laboratories has engaged in and leveraged a variety of collaborative research programmes and funding schemes so as to resource and develop the business. It was great to see the opportunity presented to TE Laboratories as a result of being involved in such projects, including not only the provision of funds, but also the exposure to new technologies that they may not otherwise have had.
Breda Moore, Technical Director, took us through their Innovation processes, and it was fascinating to learn how they have taken learnings from InterTradeIreland’s Fusion & Challenge programme, Enterprise Ireland’s I4G, and IRDG’s Lean Product Development and Design Thinking initiatives to customise the best model for themselves. The visit culminated with a selection of site tours and a wonderful lunch!
This is a company which keeps it’s finger on the pulse, operates with a very open mindset, has a host of talented researchers and most importantly is continuing to grow. Our thanks to all the team for a great visit!
