IRDG Seminar 2007
On the 20th of September 2007, IRDG held a Seminar on "The Key Issues for Industry R&D" and published its guide on 'the R&D Tax Credit Scheme' in the Heritage Golf and Spa Resort, Killenard, Co. Laois. Minister for Innovation Policy, Michael Ahern T.D. opened the Seminar and launched the New Guide.
At the launch Gerry Concannon, Chairman of IRDG and of CBE Software in Claremorris, said “IRDG has long been lobbying for the R&D Tax Credit Scheme and is very pleased that the scheme is now fully operational. The Scheme is however a bit complex and following discussions with the Revenue Commissioners, IRDG undertook to prepare a guide for companies and we are delighted to be launching this guide today”.
The Guide resulted from of a series of meetings and workshops between IRDG members and the Revenue Commissioners. This document will be widely circulated among the R&D companies and appropriate state bodies and organisations.
Guest speakers on R&D on the day included; Terry Landers- Microsoft Ireland, Declan O' Neill- Hewlett Packard, Andrew Dearing - EIRMA (Paris), Matthew Wilhite - Molex, Muiris Flynn- Glen Dimplex, Feargal Ó Móráin - Enterprise Ireland.
Winners of the IRDG Project Awards were also announced:
Large Company: Pfizer Ringaskiddy
Medium Company: Stryker Instruments
Small Company: Zandar Technologies
Overall Winner: Stryker Instruments
