UNIFIED PATENT COURT –
TIME TO PROTECT IRISH BUSINESS
Michael Howard S.C.
Tuesday 1st October 2013, 8.30am – 10.00am
The seminar will take place in the Members Room of the Royal Irish Academy, 19 Dawson Street, Dublin 2
In February 2013, 25 Member States of the European Union (including Ireland) signed the Unified Patent Court Agreement under which it will be possible for patentees to obtain an EU wide patent known as the “Unitary Patent”. The new patent will be supported by a new central patent court known as the “Unified Patent Court”. Michael will discuss the negative implications that the introduction of the Unified Patent Court will have for Ireland and its aspiration to be a knowledge economy.
The introduction of the Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court will have significant implications for IRDG members that seek patent protection, therefore this seminar may be extremely beneficial and informative.
There is no fee for the seminar but attendance is limited and pre-registration is required. Accordingly, please notify Peter Bolger, Secretary of the LES of your intention to attend by sending an e-mail with subject matter “LES Seminar of 1 October 2013” to pcarey@MHC.ie.
