In February 2016, IRDG held the first seminar in Ireland on the new Knowledge Development Box scheme. Over 250 people attended. Such was the level of interest in the subject, and need for more learning and understanding, that this further event has been organised for Cork. Check out the photos from the Dublin event in our Photo Gallery.
The Kingsley Hotel, Cork
Thursday, 21st April, 9.45am to 1.30pm
Our Panel of Experts in Cork will include Mike Sheehan & Brian Cronin, Deloitte; Eoghan Hanrahan, Enterprise Ireland; Christine Kelly, IDA; Gerard Barrett, Patent Office; Diarmaid Gavin, Ronan Daly Jermyn and Aine Hollingsworth, Revenue.
The Knowledge Development Box, as part of the Finance Act, has passed through the Dáil and commenced on 1st January 2016.
The Knowledge Development Box (KDB) is aimed at incentivising companies to undertake innovative activities in Ireland by providing a 6.25% corporate tax rate for income generated from commercialising certain
intellectual property (“IP”).
During 2015 the Department of Finance undertook a national consultative process on the KDB. As part of this IRDG consulted with the membership, initiated a working group, made a detailed submission and held meetings with the Department.
Guidelines on the KDB are currently being developed by Revenue in relation to the legislation and they will be looking for early feedback from industry.
IRDG will hold this key seminar on April 21st bringing together key parties including State Agencies, Revenue, Taxation and Intellectual Property professionals to explain and debate this new initiative for industry. The seminar will be highly relevant to all those responsible for Research & Innovation activities in their business – including General Management, Research & Finance people.
We have agreed a rate of €120 B&B with The Kingsley Hotel for anyone who would like to avail of it for the night of Wednesday, 20th April. This is subject to availability. Please contact the hotel directly, and mention IRDG when booking – 021-4800500.
