Enterprise Innovation Network (EIN)
The overall strategic objective of IRDG is to contribute to achieving the objectives of the Government Strategic for Science, Technology and Innovation. In particular we aim to double the membership over a 3 year-period, to provide advice and services to members on RD&I matters and to provide feedback to Government on Key Issues for members. The latter have been identified:
- The Administration of RD&I
- Funding of RD&I
- Working with Colleges
Over the next 3 years we will be addressing these three on a regular basis to generate input to Government from IRDG members and from a much a wider network including our IRDG database consisting of 700-companies, American Chamber, Engineers Ireland, Teagasc, the Colleges etc.
IRDG has been awarded a substantial grant through an open tender process to achieve these targets. The grant is funded by the National Development Plan and Enterprise Ireland to establish an IRDG Enterprise Innovation Network to implement the plan. The key elements are already in place:
- Recruitment of additional staff
- The IRDG website has been updated
- The database has been finalised
- We have moved to new accommodation to cater for the additional staff
- The drive to increase membership has already begun
