Innovation Practice Group Visit to Wisetek

Members!  Join us on the 21st April in Cork to hear about an Irish company, Wisetek, who is a key global player in product returns management services, and who were innovating even before they set up the company!

Wisetek have taken a simple idea and transformed it into a fantastic business success story. They continue to innovate within their business by advising their client companies on how to incorporate re-use design into new products. This visit will be a great opportunity to understand how their business works and the role innovation and R&D plays in their success.  Meet with CEO and founder Sean Sheehan and Mike Higgins, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer.

Introducing Wisetek: www.wisetek.ie

Wisetek was founded in 2007 by former EMC employee Sean Sheehan. The company is a recognised innovator in providing comprehensive product returns management services to global IT hardware manufacturers; from their facilities in Europe, Asia and the USA. With over 200 employees, Wisetek’s expanding client base includes some of the electronic industry’s leading Original Equipment Manufacturers including EMC, VCE, Dell and McAfee.

Why do what they do? – The compelling financial reasons for designing advanced sustainability into new products

Electronic IT hardware systems that reach the end of their primary operational life are now the responsibility of the Original OEM vendor to ensure they are responsibly recycled and reported under increasingly stringent international rules.

Originally this added responsibility was considered a cost and unwelcome burden on the OEM. However, considerable innovations in returned product processing have transformed this formerly onerous activity into a significant profit contributor.

The greatest financial value is derived from the recovery of components for reuse as spares or re-entry back into the manufacturing supply chain. The substantial financial value achieved from implementing Recovery for Reuse (RFR) programmes is now influencing how the latest products are being designed and assembled to ensure higher reuse yields are achieved from used products.

Using a dynamic sales exchange and product return programme, leading OEM’s are accelerating the return of product earlier in their primary life span. This generates replacement product revenues earlier, improves product cost competitiveness and embraces the highest environmental standards possible.

Please note: There is a very limited number of places available on this visit. Booking will open at 2 places per company only to accommodate as many member companies as possible. Book early to avoid disappointment.
