The aim of the Enterprise Ireland Feasibility Study Grant is to assist a company to investigate the viability of manufacturing a new product or process or to develop a new internationally traded service. The purpose of the study is to provide the necessary information to enable the company (and Enterprise Ireland) to come to firm conclusions regarding project viability.
This can include studies on product or process development projects, joint venture or licence agreements with home or overseas partners, or expansion projects in manufacturing or international services which involve new or improved products to be manufactured in Ireland.
Typical elements involved in carrying out a feasibility study include:
- Market research
- Cost analysis
- Financial projections
- Manufacturing process assessment
- Plant evaluation and selection
- Raw material sourcing
- Negotiating with potential joint venture partners or obtaining a manufacturing license may also be included
NOTE: Studies solely based on market research are not eligible for assistance.
ELIGIBILITY: You are eligible to apply for a Feasibility Study Grant if you are an Enterprise Ireland client or potential client of Enterprise Ireland and meet both of the following criteria:
- Engage in an eligible service activity or manufacture in the Republic of Ireland and,
- have 10 or more employees.
FUNDING: The maximum grant funding available for a Feasibility Study is 50% of eligible expenditures. Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. Enterprise Ireland will assess eligibility of the activities proposed in the study and associated costs. The amount of support is determined following this assessment.
NOTE: Receipt of other grants from Enterprise Ireland may impact on your eligibility for support under this initiative.
