Here at the IRDG, we are really looking forward to Europe’s largest, general science meeting which is being hosted in Dublin from July 11th-15th, 2012.
The most influential from the world of science, society and policy will assemble in Dublin for the largest open forum of its kind. This important gathering will provide a platform for debate, for influencing policy and strengthening the links between science and society. Keynote speakers include familiar names such as Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Mary Robinson, Bob Geldof, and Dr. Pearse Lyons (President of IRDG member company Alltech) along with a vast array of international speakers.
Starting out in Stockholm in 2004, the event is held every two years, and it is great to see it come to Ireland in 2012. Held under the auspices of Euroscience, it aims to:
- Showcase the latest advances in science and technology;
- Promote a dialogue on the role of science and technology in society and public policy;
- Stimulate and provoke public interest, excitement and debate about science and technology.
See you there!!
