ENERGY & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNDING PROGRAMMES

This section provides information on a range of supports available to companies who choose to pursue R&D or innovation activities within the Energy and Environmental areas.  Supports within this section are managed by the EPA, SEAI, Enterprise Ireland and Intelligent Energy-Europe.

Carbon Management / Reduction Initiative

Managed by Enterprise Ireland, companies may receive a grant towards the innovation in relation to their carbon footprint and reduction of carbon emissions.   Available to all Enterprise Ireland clients and potential clients, funding is awarded on a case by case basis.

Cleaner Greener Production Programme

Managed by the EPA, this programme is a grant scheme designed to encourage Irish companies implement cleaner greener practices.  Funding levels are subject to criteria and a maximum of €25,000.

Eco-Label Initiative

Managed by Enterprise Ireland, this initiative provides support towards the cost of engaging a consultant to assist in the validation and application for an Eco-label.  Available to all Enterprise Ireland clients and potential clients, funding is awarded on a case by case basis.

Environmentally Superior Products Initiative

Managed by Enterprise Ireland, this initiative supports innovation in environmental business performance.  Available to all Enterprise Ireland clients and potential clients, the maximum grant is 50% of the eligible expenditure incurred.

Intelligent Energy – Europe (IEE)

The European Programme IEE funding is available for different projects furthering the EU’s efforts towards clean and sustainable energy including energy efficiency, new and renewable resources, energy in transport and integrated initiatives including awareness and education.  Funding levels are awarded on a case by case basis.

Ocean Energy Prototype Development Fund

Managed by the SEAI, this fund is designed to support R&D into wave and tidal energy devices.  The level of funding is decided on a case by case basis depending upon the size of company and the nature of the research.
