4-day course over 4 months – as company teams or individuals – STARTING 6TH SEPTEMBERThis is a course over 4 days about developing radical innovation using a design thinking approach. Participants will learn how to apply tools and techniques of Design Thinking to develop radical innovation concepts matched to a firm’s strategy and capabilities. Project-based learning brings participants through the key stages of researching, developing and presenting an innovation concept for a real organisation of their choice. Briefing, review, reflective discussion and workshop style practice will form the bulk of class-work, while further investigation and development is done in teams during the 4 weeks between classes.

The course can be undertaken as a team from the one company, working on a company project, problem or innovation opportunity. Alternatively individuals are welcome to participate, and will be grouped with others into a team. Either way, all participants will complete and present a project, which they have brought with them or has been suggested by the facilitators.
Each day will feature a facilitated session running from 9 to 5pm. During the days of the visits there will be time spent with the host company to understand how they are using Design Thinking as part of their Innovation system, thereby bringing a very practical learning aspect to the programme.
Participants: Senior corporate or functional managers.
Teams: Teams will consist of 2-4 people. A team may come entirely from one firm, if desired. Alternatively, teams will be formed by the facilitators in consultation with the participants during the week preceding the start of the course.
Time Commitment per Participant:
- 4 x class days (one month apart) + 3 x 12 hours project time (during each interval period of one month)
- Each team will be assigned a mentor from the team of facilitators. These mentors will be there to support and guide the team throughout the Masterclass.
