Design Thinking Masterclass, Autumn 2016

Learn the tools and techniques of Design Thinking whilst also experiencing it in reality in IRDG member companies including Medtronic, Logitech & more…

Expressions of interest please…

Design Thinking is a big theme for IRDG, and this Autumn we will continue with our Masterclass series for members.  We are currently planning the dates, but would like to invite you to submit your details by way of expression of interest if you would like your company to be involved.

To date over 120 people have completed the Design Thinking Masterclass, from member companies in food, pharma, medical devices, software, financial services, engineering, education, environment & chemicals.  We have always had a waiting list for the Masterclass; hence the invitation to get your name in early if you are potentially interested this time around.

What is Design Thinking?

Design Thinking is a user-centred approach to creating new and innovative ideas and solving problems, by following a process such as that in the graphic above.  It is adopted by many leading, global organisations to drive their creativity and innovation.  Learn more in these two short video clips, both featuring Jeanne Liedtka, whose framework we use in the Masterclass.

IRDG’s Unique Masterclass format…

This Masterclass focuses on learning by doing, whilst getting the opportunity to visit member companies who are already strong in this field.  It consists of 4 days over 4 months, where you will be taught the tools and techniques of Design Thinking.  You will apply the step-by-step approach to a company project of your choice, giving you real results at the end.

The format will again be similar to before, 1 day per month, totalling 4 days over 4 months, visiting different companies across the country e.g. Logitech & Medtronic.  The programme will commence in late August / early September.  A minimum of 2 people per company is essential, due to the project nature of the course.  The maximum per company will be 3 or 4 people depending on overall demand.

Don’t forget to let us know…

If this is something you would like your company to be part of, we invite you to let us know.  We can then build your company into our planning, and you can review the opportunity when we have all the final details and dates ready.  We are always oversubscribed for the Masterclass, so please don’t delay in letting us know if your company is interested.
